The recipients of the Victorian Newsagent of the Year Award in the categories of Retail and Distribution will be announced at the Association’s Gala Dinner, to be staged in Melbourne on Saturday 28th February 2009 at the Plaza Ballroom at the Regent Theatre.

The Victorian Newsagents of the Year have been very successful at national level over the years and this year again Victoria has seen Melbourne Central Newsagency crowned Australian Newsagent of the Year for Distribution and Williamstowns News and Lotto, Australian Newsagent of the Year for Retail.

		The VANA Newsagent of the Year Awards program culminates in a gala awards ceremony and dinner, the VANA Gala Dinner. To be held on February 28^th, 2009 at the Plaza Ball Room at the Regent Theatre, the VANA Gala Dinner is the premier event on the industry calendar, and honours the spirit, creativity, and passion that make newsagencies a key contributor to Victoria’s economic health. The event draws together the industry’s leading players, including newsagents, publishers and suppliers. The VANA Gala Dinner awards ceremony features the announcement of finalists and overall award recipients from the Retail and Distribution categories. In addition to celebrating the achievements of newsagency owners and operators, the VANA Gala Dinner recognises and promotes the contribution and support of the Association’s sponsors, partners and supporters.
